Vintage Kimonos

Japanese Kimonos are a special passion of mine, and I love to share their beauty and drama with buyers! Our shop stocks a variety of Japanese kimono, haori, michiyuki, and obi, as well as other traditional clothing from Japan whenever we manage to snag something awesome!

Japanese fashion and art has had a influence on Western style since the late 19th Century, most famously with Art Nouveau from 1890, and then most recently, a hundred years later, with the street styles of Harajuku, popularised outside Japan by the magazine, FRUiTS, and greater internet access in general at the turn of the millenium, although that greatly simplifies the cross cultural pollination between East and West that has occurred over the years!
